KRANKENHAUS PRESENTS
Muncaster Fell Walk: The Pilgrimage

About Muncaster Fell Walk: The Pilgrimage

Friday morning.

Join us for an invigorating festival-commencement walk across Muncaster Fell, heading back to Muncaster Castle and returning in time for the festival opening ceremony. Walkers head out on a Krankenhaus La’al Ratty chartered steam train for the 4.5-mile walk back over Muncaster Fell. This is a medium difficulty walk with some uphill climbs. If the weather’s fair, there should be glorious views of the Isle of Man and the Scafell peaks. As this is a specially chartered train, please buy advance train tickets via the festival website, NOT the Ravenglass and Eskdale station – please be aware that this train usually sells out. If the walk train is booked up, then feel free to take an earlier train and meet the walking party at The Green/Eskdale Green station at approximately 10.40 am. Taking part in this walk is entirely at your own risk. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the conditions (some sections may be boggy after rain) and bring your drinks and snacks. Please bring any medication you may need. See here for more La’al Ratty info: https://ravenglass-railway.co.uk/

Pilgrimage walk itinerary

9.45 am: Meet at the Krankenhaus HQ by the Barn Stage for the walk down to the station, or you can meet us on the platform at the Ravenglass and Eskdale steam railway.

10.25 am: train departs. We disembark at The Green/Eskdale Green station and then walk back to Muncaster Castle. Estimated return at 1 pm for the festival opening ceremony.
