Join Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s red squirrel team and the Copeland Red Squirrel Group for a fun and interactive guided wildlife walk through the beautiful grounds of Muncaster Castle.
Perfect for nature lovers of all ages, the walk offers an opportunity to discover some of the fascinating wildlife that calls Muncaster home, from red squirrels and woodland birds to trees and other signs of wildlife. Along the way, the team will share their knowledge, offer wildlife-spotting and identification tips, and introduce some of the ways local wildlife is monitored and protected.
There will be opportunities to try equipment and discover how the sights, sounds and signs around us can help reveal the wildlife living in Muncaster’s woodlands.
Whether you simply enjoy being outdoors or already have a keen interest in wildlife, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, learn more about red squirrels and pick up some wildlife-spotting tips.
Keep your eyes and ears open as we explore Muncaster’s woodlands together. As with all wildlife walks, sightings cannot be guaranteed, but if you’re lucky, you might even spot a red squirrel!
Location – Meet at the Cumbria Wildlife Trust stand outside the Stables Café
Session 1 – 10am
Session 2 – 12pm
*****These walks are being delivered as part of the Red Squirrel Recovery Network, a partnership project working to protect red squirrels across northern England and southern Scotland. The project is made possible with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
