A 10/15-minute walk from the festival site takes you to the village of Ravenglass, the only coastal village located in two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Lake District National Park and Frontiers Of The Roman Empire. Ravenglass is also home to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, AKA La’al Ratty, and its passenger-carrying steam locomotives. Climb aboard for a stunning seven-mile journey from Ravenglass, across the estuary, through the hills, past seven request stops, en route to the final destination, Dalegarth For Boot station, where you will find many glorious walks and three pubs. This year the railway celebrates 150 years of operation, and Krankenhaus Festival goers will get a 25 per cent discount code for the La’al Ratty, the code applying from Thursday 21 August to Monday 25 August. The discount code will be emailed to all festival goers. Please check all scheduled festival walks to see if you need to buy an advance ticket on the La’al Ratty.
