About Family Beachcombing and Wildlife Watching

Family Beachcombing and Wildlife Watching with the Cumbria Wildlife Trust, The Knotted Project and the British Trust for Ornithology

Friday 9am-12.30pm

Perfect for families and nature lovers, this off-site festival excursion combines wildlife watching, beachcombing and table displays of sea animals and sea plants.

Join the Cumbria Wildlife Trust, the British Trust for Ornithology and The Knotted Project for an adventure on the Ravenglass estuary shore.

Meet at 9am at the Silo by the Barn Stage before heading down to the Ravenglass shore.

10.45am – 11am. After beachcombing there will be a short presentation outside Dave Shackletons plastic, lead by Jon Carter.

11am – 12pm. We head to St Michaels Church Reading Room where the Cumbria Wildlife Trust will be displaying marine organisms and bones, and also a chance to make friendship bracelets using Seagrass.

The event will finish at approximately 12pm and we will all head back to the festival site for around 12.30pm

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The tide will be on its way in so please keep an eye on the sea. Our volunteers will make sure people don’t stray too far from the ‘strand line’ (seaweed line).
