About Dominie Hooper

Dominie Hooper is a Dartmoor-raised, London-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose emotionally raw, ritualistic songs draw together textured cello, jagged guitars, layered communal vocals, and a voice of striking power and vulnerability. Rooted in the rugged landscapes and folklore of her Devon upbringing, her acclaimed debut album In This Body Lives — produced by Ben Hillier – explores memory, identity, healing, and human connection through music that recalls the brooding intensity of PJ Harvey, Magnolia Electric Co., and Richard & Linda Thompson. After years performing as a collaborator and session musician for artists including Alabaster DePlume, Yola, and Tom Odell, Dominie emerged as a singular voice in her own right, earning praise from BBC 6 Music and beyond for songs that feel both ancient and immediate — intimate acts of catharsis, transformation, and collective release.
