This is a steep, strenuous, guided uphill climb of 2.5 miles to the stone circles on the Saturday, estimated at 1 hour and 45 minutes. Sea Power’s Noble will be joining this walk.
Buy a return ticket for the 10.25am L’al Ratty train from Ravenglass to Dalegarth. We aim to return on the 12.50pm train to Ravenglass, estimated time back at Ravenglass at 1.30pm and Muncaster Castle at 13.45pm. Due to the short window of time to get the return train at 12.50pm we advise this is for the fitter walkers among us. If you wish to do this walk and are not as quick on foot, you can get the 2.10pm return train, getting you back to Ravenglass at 2.50pm, and Muncaster castle at around 3pm. A 50 per cent train discount code for the La’al Ratty has been sent to all Krankenhaus ticket holders.This walk will also feature a special audio recording from Slow Tree, marking the 10th anniversary of the Machineries Of Joy album. We will be leaving for the La’al Ratty at 10am outside the barn, or meet at 10.15am on the platform at the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, not at the mainline station.
