Saturday morning, guided excursion.
Dating back to the 1500s, Eskdale Mill is a Grade II* watermill in Boot village near Dalegarth steam railway station. Set in an idyllic location, the mill features original working machinery, including waterwheels and a modern hydro-electric wheel – alongside award-winning interactive exhibits. With its scenic gardens, the watermill makes for a memorable Eskdale experience. There’s also a gift shop selling delicious Ravenglass hand-made ice-cream and basic refreshments. The mill will open specially for Krankenhaus festival-goers on Saturday, from 11.15 am. Entrance to this private viewing is £5 per adult and free for accompanied children. For more information, go to www.eskdalemill.co.uk
To get to Boot, we’ll take the steam train on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway for the seven-mile ride to Dalegarth station. The adjacent Boot village has three lovely pubs serving food: Brook House Inn, Boot Inn and the Woolpack Inn, plus a small local shop. You can purchase steam train tickets on the day, but we advise you to buy in advance. Use the 25 per cent discount code that is being emailed to Krankenhaus ticket holders and buy a return ticket to Dalegarth.
See here for more info on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway: https://ravenglass-railway.co.uk/ Guides will lead the Eskdale Mill party down to the steam railway and then from Dalegarth to the mill.
